My interest and training in bodywork began on the same day in 1994 when I was hired as a Physical Therapist Aide at a local facility. As part of my job description, I administered massage to patients with a variety of conditions: pre and post-surgical, motor vehicle accident injuries, sports injuries, fibromyalgia, chronic and acute back, neck, shoulder pain, headaches, etc. Within the span of seven years I worked with half a dozen excellent Physical Therapists and learned many techniques from them. I was also privileged to attend some inservice training sessions and consider all of that my main education and what I continue to bring to the table- literally! I also became certified in Swedish Massage through a local massage school in 1999, and since then I have been an independent practicing massage therapist. One of my major goals and motivators in life is to help people feel better, to heal and to make a positive difference in the world around me. I am continually amazed that human touch, employed in the right way, can accomplish this.
I use a variety of modalities including moist heat, aromatherapy, myofacial release, trigger point/pressure point therapy, deep tissue massage and sports stretching. I also offer pre-natal massage. Call me directly to schedule 30, 60, and 90 minute massage sessions- 2 hour sessions also available upon request.
